We are situated seven miles from Enniskillen at Blaney Bay in County Fermanagh , a lakeland area of unspoilt natural beauty renowned for its superb fishing, peace and tranquillity.
Enniskillen is a lovely island town situated on the River Erne, with plenty of things to do and see.
The Museum offers an insight to the local history and also runs temporary exhibitions. The Ardhowen Theatre by the lake has a varied cultural programme and the local cinema offers plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Enniskillen has a lively and welcoming nightlife with many original pubs and excellent restaurants to choose from. The Lakeland Forum sports centre has a heated swimming pool, fitness suite and children’s play area as well as badminton, squash and tennis courts. Of course there are also many shops to tempt you and the recently renovated Buttermarket offers a fine choice of local art and craft products.
On the outskirts of Enniskillen you can visit Castle Coole, the National Trusts flagship property in Northern Ireland. Guided tours of the house are available and you can walk through the surrounding parkland.
The famous village of Belleek with its world-famous pottery is only 13 miles away. And a little further still (20 miles) are the beautiful counties of Donegal and Sligo with their miles of beautiful beaches and spectacular Atlantic coastlines. Ballyshannon, a seaside town on the mouth of the River Erne also offers good nightlife and has a leisure centre with swimming pool, sauna and steamroom.
Nearer to home again are the wonderful and intriguing Marble Arch Caves. These magnificent underground limestone caves have guided tours throughout the year and are close to another of the National Trust’s Properties in Fermanagh, Florencecourt House, which is also open to the public.
So whatever you are looking for, whether it be peace and relaxation, stimulating outdoor activities, or something in-between Innish Beg Cottages has something for you.
